Vega-Granillo et al. (2007) are to be congratulated for publishing high-quality, pressure-temperature-time (P-T-t) data on the high-pressure (HP) rocks within the Acatlán Complex (Fig. 1); these data expand on previously published P-T data of Meza-Figueroa et al. (2005). The evolution of this complex and its Paleozoic oceanic assemblage are central to resolving the Paleozoic tectonothermal history of Mexico and its role in the understanding of the Appalachian-Ouachita orogeny and the assembly of Pangea.
