Maps of the seaward pinch-outs of Cretaceous regressive sandstones published by Black (1979, 1983, 1984) and by Molenaar (1983a) provide valuable syntheses of regional stratigraphic trends in New Mexico, but they are too generalized to be useful for detailed structural analysis. To facilitate discussion, the pinch-out trends of Black (1983, 1984) and Molenaar (1983a) are shown (Figs. 1 and 2) relative to the control points and pinch-out trends of Cather (1999).
