Çakir and Aydin raise three general points in the opening paragraph of their Discussion to which we would like to respond directly. First, Çakir and Aydin state that we overlooked age relations among various structures in the region and that we misrepresented their model. Second, Çakir and Aydin challenge the applicability of the kinematic analysis technique of Marrett and Allmendinger (1990) that we employed in our study. Finally, Çakir and Aydin claim that we propose a model that is inconsistent with our own arguments. Following a brief discussion of these main points, we key our response to each individual point that they raise in their Discussion.
