Chitinozoanlike microfossils have been discovered in thin sections of an upper Precambrian shallow-water dolostone from the Arabian Shield. The forms are similar to microfossils recently reported from the upper Precambrian Kwagunt Formation of the Grand Canyon, Arizona. To our knowledge, this is the second record of chitinozoanlike organisms in pre-Paleozoic rocks. The age of the dolostone is inferred to be ≅600 m.y.
