The importance of determining paleoelevations in highland areas is highlighted by the discrepancies between various studies of the Colorado Plateau. The data from our analysis (Figure 3 of Sahagian et al., 2002a) can be fit with a straight line with a best fit that has a y-intercept of 660 m (Libarkin and Chase, 2002).
