We thank Harries et al. for their comments on our paper, but feel that their preconceived notion of Western Interior stratigraphy has limited their objectivity with respect to our findings. Harries et al. are correct in stating that our findings do not match the past half-century of research in this region. This is because our study area is in what we interpret as distal deltaic deposits of the Fox Hills Formation, and in an area where the Hell Creek Formation was not deposited at the time of the impact.
