A key question concerning the Atlas Mountains is whether the mountains are primarily a Mesozoic or a Cenozoic orogen. The points listed in Laville's comment on our paper concern two main issues: (1) Pre-Cretaceous deformation of the High Atlas, and (2) the timing of the initiation of thrusting at the flanks of the High Atlas.
