Abstract

The composition and color of till in the Lake Superior region reflect the nature of the associated bed rock. An examination of till from long sediment cores taken in Lake Superior indicates that, in agreement with previous seismic studies, most of the lake is underlain by Bayfield-Jacobsville sandstone.
