Coe and Hesselbo challenge my interpretations of two key horizons in the Jurassic of Dorset on the basis of their own detailed researches, Coe on the Oxfordian, and Hesselbo on the Lower Jurassic. Let me deal with them in turn. Coe argues that the concretions in question postdate burrows from younger strata and hence cannot reveal evidence of penecontemporary erosion as I claimed.
