Abstract

Thermoluminescence dates for the loess deposits above and below the Old Crow tephra at the Halfway House site near Fairbanks limit the age of the tephra to 86 ± 8 ka. This is in excellent agreement with other estimates already in the literature. The dating was performed using additive dose procedures and optical selection of the potassium-feldspar signal from a polymineral mixture of fine grains.
