Abstract
East of the Tizi n'Test fault, one aspect of the southern margin of the North African Variscan belt is illustrated in the Tineghir traverse. It is characterized by Appalachian-type foreland thrusts pushed southward upon the edge of the Sahara platform at the end of the collisional late Namurian folding phase. This thrust belt is superimposed on a continental paleoslope recorded by huge Devonian-Dinantian olistostromes.
