Mercury’s Caloris Basin (~1525 km across) is revealed in this enhanced-color composite overlain on a monochrome mosaic. The images of the mosaic were captured by the Mercury Dual Imaging System on the MESSENGER spacecraft. This glimpse of the planet’s surface was first published online 15 November 2014.
