...Zhan Shifan; Chen Maoshan; Li Lei; Tao Chunfeng; Wan Zhonghong; Zhao Xiaohui Abstract The offset vector tile (OVT) is a special prestack seismic gather type, and OVT technology is a seismic processing technology suitable for wide-azimuth seismic (WAZ) exploration. Because current WAZ interpretation...

Several histograms showing the combined results of the fracture azimuth inversion for the Haynesville data set. An ambiguous fracture azimuth is shown, and thus these plots only have an azimuthal range of 90°. (a and b) Haynesville fracture azimuth results from the “second-order Fourier coefficient phase” approach. Results are shown that use the full data range (a) as are results that only use data larger than 25° (b). (c) A histogram of Haynesville fracture azimuth results found by the “brute-force inversion + minimum error” approach. Both methods suggest that the most likely azimuth is at −7°/+83° relative to the grid layout, which is −10°/+80° clockwise of geodetic north. There are 91 histogram bins, each of which is 1° wide.
