(a), (b), and (c). Chemical composition of the F-disilicates in the Passa Quatro nepheline syenites and phonolite. The reference compositions (black diamonds) are those in the Handbook of Mineralogy (names underlined). Reference compositions are from the Phlegrean Fields (Melluso et al. 2012), Ischia (Melluso et al. 2014), Gharyan (Lustrino et al. 2012), Itatiaia (Melluso et al. 2017), and Sushina Hill (Chakrabarty et al. 2018). The reference compositions of the Oslo Rift nepheline syenites are taken from Andersen et al. (2010, 2012a, b). The structural formulae were calculated assuming Si + Al = 8 cations per formula unit.

While pyroxenes and amphiboles have roughly the same Mn# as the host rocks, the other phases have much higher Mn# than the bulk-rock, hence they can fractionate the Mn# in more evolved melts. Compilation of the density data measured in this study as a function of temperature, together with the densities of pure Na-disilicate from Courtial et al. (1999, solid diamonds). The full circles and squares represent the densities of Na-disilicate melts containing 5 and 10 wt% of cerium oxide, respectively, and the grey circles and squares represent the densities of Na-disilicate melts containing 5 and 25 wt% of the other lanthanide oxides, respectively. The error bars correspond to the standard deviation of the replicate density calculated using Equation 1.
