S-C fabrics in HHC. (a) The sigmoidal S-surfaces are deflected near the C-surfaces in the garnet –kyanite schist near Hirgo. The angle between S and C is ~21°. The sense of shear is top-to-ESE. (b) Intensely sheared mylonitic granite near Pene. The late extensional C′ -plane also further deflects the S –surfaces. (c) The C -plane deflecting S-surface in quartz-biotite schist near Menchuka (d) The sub-horizontal C-planes making acute angle with S-surfaces near Yapik village. The sense of shear is top-to-ESE. (Locations: Hirgo: 28°30'53.3"N: 94°26'99.8"E; Yapik: 28°30'69.3"N: 94°28'54.2" E; Menchuka: 28°36'036" N: 94°07'853" E)

Microstructures in HHC. (a) Asymmetric fold in the biotite gneisses at west of Yapik. The axial trace of the fold is demarcated by a white line. The fold verges to ESE. (b), (c) and (d) garnet inclusion trails in the gneisses near Tato and Gapo depict rotation of the internal foliation (Si). The pervasive external foliation S2 is designated as Se. The spiral inclusion trail represents rotation of the porphyroblasts. The rotation of the porphyroblasts indicate top-to-ESE sense of shear. From (b) to (d) the progressive rotation of the porphyroblasts is depicted.
