Within a depth interval of 5 m (dashed box), there are about 45–50 visible diffractions per 40 meter length. The waveform inserts were extracted from the circled, deep event. The diagrammatic insert depicts enhanced backscatter caused by constructive interference along two equal, but opposite ray paths, and which may explain this event.
