...T. J. DEMPSTER; N. F. C. HUDSON; G. ROGERS Abstract The Buchan area of Dalradian rocks represents a distinct tectonothermal domain within the Scottish Highlands, and the Portsoy-Duchray Hill lineament on the western margin of this block is one of the best examples of a long-lived domain boundary...

A 2–15 km wide corridor of andalusite pseudomorphed by kyanite occurs between...

Map and cross-section of the geology of NE Scotland, with inset location map (modified after Kneller 1987). Post-Devonian granite plutons are excluded for clarity. The Portsoy, Huntly, Succoth-Brown Hill, Blackwater and Morven Cabrach Intrusions lie in the northern part of the Portsoy–Duchray Hill Lineament (PDHL), which is indicated by the elongate shaded zone.

Sample localities from the Banffshire coast of Scotland that were dated by 40Ar/39Ar geochronology. The mineral isograds shown are after Hudson (1985). Igneous units near Portsoy are after Hudson (1980). The igneous units approximately follow the trend of the Portsoy Duchray Hill lineament. The mineral abbreviations used follow the recommendations of Kretz (1983) Major structural boundaries in the map inset: GGF, Great Glen Fault; HBF, Highland Boundary Fault; SUF, Southern Uplands Fault; IS, Iapetus Suture.
