The track left on a patch of biofilm is less well defined, whereas the displacement rims are either missing or are wider than those in pure-clay track. One digital impression is missing in the track on the biofilm and only the wrinkled biofilm shows the digital position (w). The superimposed outlines of the pure-clay track (darker outline) and of track on the biofilm (lighter outline) show that the latter is larger in terms of the area it occupies.]()
