The δ13C curve through the Darriwilian succession at the Hällekis Quarry, Province of Västergötland, southern Sweden. Conodont biostratigraphy is after Zhang (1998a), Schmitz et al. (2008) and S. M. Bergström (unpubl. data). Lithostratigraphic succession in the uppermost Lanna Limestone and Holen Limestone is after Zhang (1998a) and that of the Gullhögen Formation is after Jaanussson (1964) based on the nearby Norra Skagen drill-core. The increase in δ13C values in the Microzarkodina ozarkodella Subzone that marks the beginning of the MDICE should be noted. This excursion is truncated by the unconformity beneath the Skövde Limestone (indicated by a wavy line) that is associated with a stratigraphic gap corresponding to at least the Eoplacognathus suecicus Zone and the Yangtzeplacognathus foliaceus Subzone of the Pygodus serra Zone.
