The solid lines indicate well-constrained boundaries, location accuracy ±5 km for the Moho, and the dashed lines denote assumed structural boundaries. (a) Seismicity from 1964–2006 according to the relocated ISCEHB catalog. The location accuracy for relocated ISC events is generally better than 20 km when the azimuthal gap is smaller than 180° (Bondar et al., 2003). The black line indicates the extent of the presumed rupture surface of the 365 A.D. Crete event according to Papazachos (1996). (b) Microseismic activity with ML&gt;1.7 in the same region as observed by temporary short period networks on western Crete and the island of Gavdos (Meier et al., 2004).
