Exhumation Path: Boxes D1–D5 represent a possible exhumation P-T path for garnet peridotite from Dabie Bixiling massif. Boxes D3–D5 are from Zhang et al. (2003) and Liou et al. (1997, 2002), D2 is from Wang et al. (1992), and D1 is from Yang et al. (1993) and Zhang et al. (1995, 2000). The solid-line arrow labeled “Dabie” indicates a possible extension of this exhumation P-T path for garnet peridotite of the Dabie Bixiling massif; the star at 9.5 GPa, 1230 K is the estimated condition of HPclen exsolution from subcalcic augite based on the results of this paper. For comparison, boxes A1–A5 (accompanied by dates) describe a similar exhumation curve for the Alpe Arami massif, Switzerland (Brenker and Brey 1997). Open circle is Alpe Arami P/T from Ernst (1978); filled circle is from Medaris and Carswell (1990). Dashed line with question marks labeled Arami represents extension of that exhumation curve for Alpe Arami based on data of Dobrzhinetskaya et al. (1996) and Bozhilov et al. (1999); the star at 12.5 GPa, 1750 K is the (roughly) estimated conditions of HPclen exsolution from diopsidic augite based on the results of this paper. Phase fields labeled with space-group notation refer to the stable phase of (Mg0.9Fe0.1)SiO3 (Woodland and Angel 1997; Woodland 1998), except that the boundaries with the HPclen field (labeled C2/c) have been moved to 0.5 GPa lower pressure to account for the effect of Ca (Nestola et al. 2004). The dashed line in the lower right corner marks conditions below which the solubility of TiO2 in olivine exceeds 0.6 wt% (Dobrzhinetskaya et al. 2000).
