Abstract

For an equilibrium cross-shore profile, a kinematic model has been constructed that predicts the rate of shoreline erosion in response to rising sea level. Model predictions are reasonably close to observed erosional rates for several shorelines bordering the United States coast of the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico.--Modified journal abstract.
