Abstract

During the 1975 SEG Academic-Industry Seminar held in Houston, June 22-26, participants asked for statistical data regarding the employment of university graduates as geophysics. Accordingly, a questionnaire was sent to about 75 companies which employ geophysicist: oil companies, geophysical contractors, etc. The following tabulation details the result of the 31 questionnaire returned by December 20, 1975. Three questions were asked one regarding employees hired directly from universities, a second regarding summer employees, and third regarding requirements for foreign languages. The last question was designed to obtain information for a study being conducted for the AAAS.
