Astroblemes in Williston Basin
AAPG Bulletin (1975) 59 (4): 694-710

Abstract

The Cedar Creek and Nesson anticlines are the principal regional structures in the comparatively simple Williston basin. Structural anomalies of much smaller dimensions have been attributed primarily to solution collapse of Devonian salt. Seismographic data and drilling on several of these radial features indicate meteorite impact as the cause for localized solution and anomalous structures. Viewfield (Saskatchewan), Hartney (Manitoba), and Redwing Creek (North Dakota) are three examples of probable astrobleme origin.
