Abstract

On the basis of geomorphic criteria, five levels corresponding to Quaternary glaciations can be distinguished in the terraces along the Rhone in southern France. From highest to lowest, they are: the Donau, Guenz (two levels), Mindel, Riss (two levels), and Wuerm. Each level is described in detail.
