Micropaleontology (1964) 10 (3): 333-338

"A neotype from Las Palmas is selected for Astrononion stelligerum (d'Orbigny). External sutural plates in this and some other species of Astrononion are shown to have developed from sutural tubes; consequently, the genus Pacinonion Vella, erected for species with sutural tubes, is considered a junior synonym of Astrononion. Three subgenera of Astrononion are proposed."
