Special Paper - Geological Society of America (1985) 197: 29-44

Abstract

A tentative chronology of Late Wisconsinian deglaciation of coastal Maine has been provided by 42 radiocarbon dates on shells, seaweed and organic sediments. The dates apply to positions of the retreating ice margins and to the interval of late-glacial marine submergence. Available dates span the interval 13 000 B.P. to 11 400 B.P.
