Abstract
The lead-zinc mineralization of the La Loubatiere deposit is localized in the basal zone of a calcareous-dolomitic lens forming part of a lower Paleozoic folded and overturned schist-limestone series in the axial zone of the Montagne Noire, France. An intrusive biotite granite caused the development of intense contact metamorphism. Two stages of mineralization are recognized. One was directly related to granite intrusion; the other involved remobilization of syngenetic sulfides of shales and limestones, as a result of granite intrusion, followed by redeposition and concentration in veins of hydrothermal aspect.
