Abstract

Schroeckingerite [NaCa (sub 3) UO (sub 2) (CO (sub 3) ) (sub 3) SO (sub 4) F.10H (sub 2) O] collected at the La Soberiana mine in San Isidro, Mendoza province, Argentina--and near Moab, Utah--occurs in transparent crystals of hexagonal outline and less than one millimeter in maximum dimension. They are orthorhombic pseudohexagonal. Unit cell dimensions are a = 9.69 A, b = 16.83, c = 14.26. Space group is Cmmm. Crystallographic, physical, optical, and dehydration data are given.
