Abstract

Extensive pebble and boulder accumulations found in elevated areas of the Plan-Eycheil region, France, are considered Pliocene valley fill deposits of the Salat river and its tributary, the Volp. At the time of their formation, the course of the Salat river, which now flows from east to west, was north-south.
