Abstract
The structure of this synthetic compound has four symmetrically distinct U (super 6+) cations, each strongly bonded to two O atoms, giving (UO (sub 2) ) (super 2+) uranyl ions. Each uranyl ion is coordinated by 5 anions. The resulting uranyl pentagonal bipyramids are linked by sharing vertices and edges giving sheets with a previously unobserved topology with the Na located between the sheets.
