Abstract
Ellison Miles Geotechnology Institute (EMGI) was established in 1997 as the North Texas Geoscience Technology Training Center. The name was changed after a $3.5 million donation (the largest gift ever made to the Dallas County Community College) by Ellison Miles in 1999 to construct a permanent facility that will house geotechnology continuing education programs.
