Abstract

EPMA indicates that hyalophane from Zagrlski Potok, Bosnia, contains 0.12 wt.% N, corresponding with 0.15 wt.% NH (sub 4) . IR spectra show that it is present as NH (super +) (sub 4) . The full analysis gave SiO (sub 2) 49.40, Al (sub 2) O (sub 3) 22.96, Fe (sub 2) O (sub 3) 0.02, BaO 19.58, CaO 0.00, SrO 0.35, MgO 0.00, Na (sub 2) O 1.44, K (sub 2) O 6.38, (NH (sub 4) ) (sub 2) O 0.22, = 100.35.
