The stratiform and vein-type mineralization of the Pollone deposit (baryte and pyrite, with accessory galena, sphalerite and sulphosalts) displays an exhalative origin and a metamorphic imprint. Diaphorite (Pb (sub 1.87) Cu (sub 0.03) Cd (sub 0.03) )Ag (sub 3.13) (Sb (sub 2.81) As (sub 0.16) )S (sub 7.97) , reported for the first time in the Apuan Alps, occurs both as exsolutions and as intergrowths in galena. It forms part of irregular enrichments of quartz with galena, sphalerite and Ag-sulphosalts in the wall rocks of the 'Galleria Preziosa' vein, probably as a result of metamorphic remobilization.
