AAPG Bulletin (April 1995) 79 (4): 513-530

Abstract

The diagenetic history of the sandstone-rich Theresa formation and the overlying, dolomite-rich Beauharnois formation is given. The paper documents the diagenetic history: early dolomitization of marine peritidal sediments, skeletal dissolution, simultaneous dolomite and recrystallization and limestone neomorphism, quartz cement, stylolitization, Fe-dolomite rims on preexisting dolomite crystals, oil migration, post-oil quartz cement in fractures and post-oil coarse calcite cement. Solid bitumen occurs coating pores, under the late quartz and late calcite.
