Abstract
The OH end-member of the F-OH topaz solid-solution series, with a composition close to Al (sub 2) SiO (sub 4) (OH) (sub 2) , has been synthesized at P between 55 and 100 kbar and T <= 1000 degrees C from gels and crystalline starting materials. The results of single-crystal X-ray diffraction (space group Pbnm, a 4.724, b 8.947, c 8.390 Angstrom) are reported.
