Seismic trade data; exploration's alternative (in Special issue; Acquisition, J. P. Lindsey (prefacer))

Abstract

To some degree, seismic data trades have been occurring since the early days of seismic exploration. Prior to the appearance of data management companies and seismic libraries, most of the larger companies would routinely exchange "trade maps." These maps showed the line location of those data that were available in return for a like amount of data.
