Abstract

A thermodynamic trend analysis has been carried out for gaseous F and Cl compounds of 42 elements in a T range from 500 to 2000 K, as well as systematic dominance analyses. Mobility and transport potential are evaluated according to the reaction condition P, deduced from the equilibrium constant, together with the saturation P of the dominant halogen compound, and assuming a transport barrier. From the dominance analysis, simple chemical reactions can also be deduced which are suitable for description of the direct deposition of numerous minerals from the gaseous phase and the stability conditions of these minerals.
