Abstract

To follow the progress of the metamictization process at low radiation doses, a series of chemically and structurally well- charaterized titanite samples has been examined by a variety of techniques: EPMA, TG and evolved gas analyses; XRD; IR spectroscopy; single-crystal XRD; Mossbauer spectroscopy; magic- angle spinning NMR; high-resolution TEM; EXAFS and XANES spectroscopy.
