Some geotechnical aspects of Iraklion marls
Bulletin of the Association of Engineering Geologists (February 1987) 24 (1): 93-103

Abstract

The main types of Iraklion marls are described and classified in geological terms and their mineralogy and structure are compared with other physical and mechanical properties. Activity, sensitivity, pre-consolidation and swelling characteristics of these marls were examined by testing specimens in the laboratory. The effective stress paths are drawn and the stress parameters are estimated in consolidated undrained triaxial tests.--Modified journal abstract.
