Abstract
The Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), the China Geophysics Society (CGS), the China Society of Petroleum Geophysicists, now Committee of Geophysical Exploration of CPS, and the China Petroleum Society (CPS) deserve every credit for bringing exploration geophysicists ever closer together in the last seven years. The Joint Meeting of CPS/SEG in Beijing, The People's Republic of China, April 12-16, 1985, was the culmination of past efforts put forth by all these societies.
