Abstract

This volume displays cores selected to provide subsurface geological examples of deep-water carbonates from a variety of depositional settings. Several papers discuss depositional models, platform-to-basin reconstructions, and diagenetic sequences important in the development and exploration of Palaeozoic carbonate debris flow and turbidite reservoirs of the Palo Duro, Delaware and Midland basins. Deep-water sedimentation and the transition from basin-to-platform are presented from the Mississippian of the Illinois basin, and for the Mesozoic of Mexico and the Middle East. Two papers are abstracted separately in this issue of Mineralogical Abstracts, i.e.
