Deep-water carbonates; buildups, turbidites, debris flows and chalks; a core workshop

This volume displays cores selected to provide subsurface geological examples of deep-water carbonates from a variety of depositional settings. Several papers discuss depositional models, platform-to-basin reconstructions, and diagenetic sequences important in the development and exploration of Palaeozoic carbonate debris flow and turbidite reservoirs of the Palo Duro, Delaware and Midland basins. Deep-water sedimentation and the transition from basin-to-platform are presented from the Mississippian of the Illinois basin, and for the Mesozoic of Mexico and the Middle East.
