Abstract
Universities are not the usual clientele for the firepower expertise of Ramo, Inc., a Nashville, Tennessee manufacturer of the .50-caliber machine gun -- a macabre technological masterpiece, according to Ramo president E. R. "Pony" Maples, because it has remained highly effective and virtually unimproved upon since its invention 66 years ago by the ingenious John Moses Browning.
