Abstract
343 wells drilled compared with 335 wells in 1981. 99 successful wells were completed for a success rate of 28.86%, down from 38.5% in 1981. With 1,124 holes drilled, development drilling decreased 20.5% from 1981. Most of the decrease is due to a depressed gas market affecting San Juan Basin infill drilling. Exploratory drilling in the Paradox Basin remains high, with numerous discoveries reported at year end.--Modified journal abstract.
