Abstract
These papers are intended to illustrate the subsurface geological record created by carbonate buildups, with emphasis on lithofacies, stratigraphy of buildups and their surrounding deposits, geometry, 'reef'-building and sediment-producing organisms, and diagenesis and porosity evolution. The 21 papers are arranged in sections covering the Palaeozoic, Mesozoic and Cainozoic.
