Representation of compositions in complex titanian spinels and application to the De Beers kimberlite
American Mineralogist (April 1982) 67 (3-4): 244-250

Abstract

The kimberlitic spinels tend to be high in Ti which is not used in the usual prism plot, and this can be misleading. A two- parameter plot of Cr vs Fe (super 2+) has been used successfully to distinguish the suites of spinels from several kimberlite intrusions.
