Abstract

Evidence of retrograde reactions in two low-P regional metamorphic complexes supports the suggestion of England & Richardson that metamorphic complexes controlled largely by magmatic intrusions should cool isobarically in the early stages. This behaviour contrasts with the cooling of metamorphic complexes formed during major collision-type processes, which show evidence of marked decrease in P. (Author's abstract)
