Abstract

A portion of the join was reinvestigated from 7 to 16 kbar and 550 degrees -990 degrees C. The incongruent melting of anorthite + water (beginning at 10.2 kbar, 725 degrees C) is significantly lower than earlier reported. Other components would lower the melting T even further.
