Abstract
No upper limit is to be expected for the size of crystals. The dimensions and occurrences of the largest crystals in 24 categories (9 classes) of minerals are discussed. The largest known crystal is a beryl from Malakialina, Malagasy Republic (18 m X 3.5 m, 143 m (super 3) and 380 000 kg).
