Seismograph surveys have played a major part in the development of the Eastern Palo Duro basin, covering about 100 townships in southwestern Oklahoma. The main problems encountered are related to surface and near-surface Quaternary deposits and to the Permian Blaine formation. The 'Vibroseis' system produces better data than the conventional method. It is concluded that adequate reservoirs are present and that there is ample room for structures comparable to Conley field in adjacent Hardeman County, Tex.; by careful application of suitable seismic field techniques, such structures can be reliably mapped.
